Get Out of Your Rut

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Do you feel like your life is stuck?

When you find yourself discontent with everyday life, or you have a nagging feeling that you need a change, you’re probably in a rut. Ruts are not uncommon. So many of us find ourselves stuck in a job we don’t like, living repeated patterns of frustration and stress, and even feeling less than enthusiastic about our relationships and family.

Getting out of ruts can be challenging. We have a great ability to change ourselves, but we often don’t know where to begin. Sometimes it just takes a helping hand: an outside perspective, fresh ideas, or someone to act as a sounding board to vent frustrations and share inspirations can be invaluable to successfully navigating a slump. When you are ready to shake up your life, or at least figure out why you feel blasé, it might time to turn to a lifestyle design coach.

Invest In You

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Many of us are either economically pinched or struggling to justify additional purchases out of fear of spending our precious reserves. While this seems sensible, not investing in ourselves or our lives could be hurting us.

Using our resources to continue to thrash around in a life fraught with endless debts and expenses and a job that doesn’t satisfy our inner self or our pocketbook can be frustrating. This frustration might be leaking out into our lives in unseen ways – maybe extra junk food in your grocery cart, frivolous shopping to ease your discontent, or petty arguments with loved ones. Be Kind To Your Mind – Your Head Might Explode!

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

I used to think way too much. I would continually ask myself questions over and over again and ponder deeply in a confused miasma of circular thinking. I was addicted to it. My wife would tease me, “Be careful — your head might explode!”

The mind is designed to generate thought, but sometimes we get into mental ruts of endless constant analysis where you never solve anything or reach a point of completion.

Who Do You Think You Are?

Friday, June 12th, 2009

The other day I experienced an “Ah Ha” moment that made me see my reality differently than I normally see it.

Someone asked me, “What are you afraid of?” I stopped in my tracks. Being homeless and living under a bridge ranked high up there. But as I thought deeper, and after writing my fears down in my journal, I realized that I was afraid of success.

Bee Happy: Go For the Gold

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

As a coach, I’m in the business of helping people find solutions to their lives. I’ve found that it’s not uncommon for clients to know what they don’t want but few know what they do want.

They tell me how unhappy they are in their current jobs or lives but they are unwilling to invest the necessary time to write about their passions, meditate or reflect on exactly what will bring them the fulfilling life they desire.

Soul Mission: Foundation for an Extraordinary Life

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

When you ask people to point to themselves, regardless of the culture, they will almost always point to the center of their chest, to their heart center. They don’t point to their head. We instinctively know that there is an intelligence, an innate sense of our core being deep in our body, not in the intellect. This core being is the soul.

Soul is a word that’s showing up all over the place now. Recently I even saw an advertisement for the soul of a car! It’s a word that gets tossed around a lot, yet when I ask an audience to define soul, there is often a deafening silence.
