I am a long-time meditator and I am extremely aware of the thoughts I think. Spending time in a “no-mind-content” awareness serves to heighten my consciousness of the thoughts I think on a daily basis. It is like fully experiencing the new, exquisite taste and texture of food after a long fast.
I am the product of my thoughts. My thoughts determine my emotions and feelings, and equally important, they ultimately become how I see myself. Since I am responsible for the creation of my thoughts, I must be intentionally mindful of the thoughts I allow to enter my mind field.

The ancient Greek aphorism “Know Thyself” was inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. Uncovering who I really am has become the surprise of my life. After years of introspection, observation and self inquiry, I believe I’m beginning to realize who I really am. This is new to me, and it’s exciting!

Pure knowingness exists for all to realize. Knowing is the light of Self reflected onto the mind. Seeing beyond the mind means getting in touch with Self. All is possible when Self becomes predominant. Awareness of Being reflects in all action, thought process and feeling. We truly know, “I am That”.
When life is a reflection of Pure Knowingness, all that emanates from this awareness is joy. Mind and ego are not irrelevant, but less dominant. Desire to become no longer exists, and this understanding reveals that you are already That, whole and complete. Identity falls away.

My wife wouldn’t let me have a microwave oven. We have been vegetarians for 25 years, and she detests the idea of re-ordering the molecules in our food.
Being the quintessential man, rather than make a stovetop lunch and deal with the prospect of dirty dishes and pans, I usually defer to a simple bowl of cereal. So, I recently longed for the quick hot pocket, or a piping hot veggie dog, lovingly nuked in a microwave oven. I could be back to work in a flash.
We jokingly talked about my desire for a microwave. She said I could have one, but I would have to keep it in the basement. I mused that my bed might end up there as well.

“The kingdom of God cometh not with observation; neither shall they say, Lo here! or, Lo there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21)
We are not the mind, nor are we the body. We are no thing. So who are we? If, as some sages purport, there is nowhere that God is not, are we deluded? Do our perceptions delude us? Can we trust our judgments, beliefs and opinions? We value our precious opinions because we have come to believe these hard-won positionalities as our own. We love and treasure them. We identify with them. They have become hardened, and crystallized within our mind fields and have turned into cherished belief systems. We’re drowning in a sea of opinion, and we’ve become dysfunctional.
Even as I write, I am enjoying my pontification. I am spewing forth my beloved opinion, ranting and raving, admiring my words and viewpoints. Perhaps all politicians, world leaders, teachers, spiritual seekers, and anyone who has a tendency to think too much, should stop, and notice the flowers. Feel each step with reverence. Eat more consciously. Feel their breath through their nostrils. Notice the gift of life and vitality inside the body. Be thankful more. Appreciate more.

Love is the continual, inexorable, evolutionary progression toward reunion with the Godhead. With God’s out-breath came the Big Bang. Along with the creation of countless divine sparks of individualized units of pure consciousness, the outflowing of Her Love began. This Divine Will and expansion still roars through the universe in the form of Divine Light and Sound. It will end when all souls become refined and return to their Creator. This in-breath, is God’s love and grace for His Creation.
Love, is simply the pull towards a reunification with our Creator. The highest form of love is the love of God. It is the glue that draws us to the Divinity we see in others. It is a recognition that is simply a reflection of the Divinity we see and feel within ourselves.
